Whitfield House
Whitfield House, situated five minutes from the Cairns Central Business District and International Airport, has a unique location within the Mount Whitfield Conservation Park, immediately adjacent to the magnificent Botanic Gardens.
The land on which the house is situated was originally cleared by Chinese settlers soon after the establishment of Cairns in 1876.
In 1925 the first house was built on the present site. The house was virtually unchanged from 1925 till the mid-1990’s when it became a licensed function centre.
In January 2005 it was purchased by the present owners and has been extensively renovated and modernised. Functions are held in a truly spectacular setting, either in the various function rooms, poolside, or on the expansive lawn area. A Federation style mansion, completely renovated to incorporate state of the art digital technology in all its reception rooms and in the self-contained suites throughout the property is one of the unique features of Whitfield House.
Add to this the stunning art collection, the magnificent antique furniture, the crystal chandeliers, Persian rugs with polished floors from timber harvested from the surrounding rainforest seventy five years ago, and you have Whitfield House.
It is an ideal venue for conferences, weddings and corporate functions of up to 90 guests.
